Ami and Kid Jarrett travel to Historical Village

Ami and Kid Jarrett traveled 120 miles to visit the museum and village in Jefferson County. The village reflects life in Jefferson County from the mid-19th century to more recent years. There are intact buildings to view. The Kid wore his seat belt as he traveled in Ami's Ford Taurus. It was a pleasant trip taking about one hour and 10 minutes. The village is located at 38 degrees and -89 degrees latitude and longitude. It was a worthwhile trip as Kid Jarrett met Rebecca Brewner who is a board member of the historical village.

Kid Jarrett visits Jeff and his family

The weather in southern Illinois had Kid Jarrett stranded at Jeff's house. During his extended stay, he nursed Jeff through the flu. The 'kid' also met Jeff's dog. However, the 'Kid' was so well behaved that Jeff's wife thought she would like to have a small dog of her own, so the 'Kid' met the new puppy as well. Jeff told everyone that the Kid was a good house guest. He didn't eat much food and was pretty pleasant company.

Kid found that he didn't much care for the ice and snow in the area. Sledding is not on his list of favorite things to do. Although, Jeff did take him to Zeigler, IL to see a memorial. It was the American Legion Post 177 War Memorial. It is dedicated to fallen war heroes. He and Jeff traveled safely there by automobile as no horses were allowed. Jeff told the "Kid" that they travel 43 miles to visit the memorial. It seemed a lot longer to the Kid.
